QANAT CURA
QANAT CURA is a web exhibition programme framing a protocol of diffused curating and care among and beyond the members of the QANAT collective body. Testing a new form of being together in times of ‘social distancing’, QANAT CURA explores modes in which processes of recognition, redistribution and solidarity could be enacted via a chain of invitations grounded in personal commitments and shared responsibility.
The pages of the QANAT web archive are animated by individual proposals, each curated by a QANAT ‘digger’: spaces through which each member of the collective articulates and shares her relationality to the project and her surrounding world, by displaying and curating the work, reflections or practices of artists, thinkers, groups and realities that have informed and inspired her praxis.
Started in 2017 in Marrakech, QANAT is a collective platform that explores the politics and poetics of water in Morocco and beyond to reflect and act upon the multiple contextual understandings and forms of (re)production of the commons.
